Speakers: Kate Rambridge, Head of Interpretation, SS Great Britain Trust, Thom Buttery, Director, Limbic Cinema and Saili Katebe, Poet

SS Great Britain’s collaboration with poet Saili Katebe and Limbic Cinema revealed the experience of global migration, in the C19 and now. Hear how a big experiment in creative practice and digital multi-media returned a 180-year old ship to the world’s oceans – and changed the story for everyone. This project achieved deep emotional engagement, in old and new audiences, by ‘refloating’ SS Great Britain for a journey far into the unknown. ‘Iron Island’ took us all to new places, and saw a profound shift in our organisational understanding of storytelling.
