Speakers: Eleanor Hilton, Digital Learning Manager and Anna Husband, Schools Consultant, National Portrait Gallery

In September 2023, the National Portrait Gallery launched Schools hub, a major online learning offer for schools, designed to support the study of Art & Design and History through portraits. The hub features more than 160 specially-commissioned, curriculum-linked learning resources and videos, all developed by and with teachers, artists, historians and education experts.
Schools hub was designed entirely around the needs of audiences, with content development and web functionality informed by front-end research, expert advisors and ongoing testing. The resulting hub enables schools across the UK to explore stories of those who have shaped British history, culture and society through portraiture.
This session will outline the development process involved, and include key findings from the audience research, some of the challenges and lessons learned, and finish with some top tips for producing online learning resources for schools.  https://www.npg.org.uk/schools-hub/
