During lockdown, Colchester + Ipswich Museums created activity packs for local communities, aimed at supporting those in digital poverty. What began as an in-house initiative, filled with materials stripped from craft cupboards, quickly snowballed. With support from volunteers and countless partners, over 2200 packs were delivered directly to families, including contents for under 5s, young adults and SEN audiences. In this seminar, the team involved explore the practicalities, challenges and surprising outcomes of the project, as well as the valuable lessons learnt when usual rules go out the window.
