Speakers: Dr Ashley Fisher, Community Engagement Supervisor and Philip Roebuck, Exhibitions Executive, York Archaeology

Like many listed buildings, Barley Hall has numerous physical restrictions and barriers to accessibility embedded in the very fabric of the building. A recreated medieval townhouse in the centre of York, there are few physical interventions that can take place.

However, with these restrictions in mind, its newest exhibition is also its most accessible yet. Based on recent doctoral research, Barley Hall serves as a testing ground for a new way to understand accessibility, particularly for those with hidden disabilities.
