Museums + Heritage Advisor and Show partnered to co-host a webinar to discuss the issues surrounding fever screening and the deployment of skin temperature cameras in museums and galleries. The webinar was co-chaired by Nick Johnson, commercial director and senior consultant at IJA, and the Show’s content manager, Sara Bowen.

In line with the much-discussed ‘new normal’ that cultural venues must adapt to when reopening after coronavirus restrictions are eased, we  partnered with security and risk management advisory firm IJA to deliver this webinar which focused on temperature monitoring solutions.

As such, the session tackled topics including:

  • The ethics around data and GDPR
  • Limitations of the available scanning solutions
  • Staff safety if deployed to test visitors
  • Permanent and temporary installation practicalities
  • How to prevent queues forming at testing points
  • Keeping designated areas clean and secure

The session’s co-hosts will be joined by four professionals with expertise in this field. Each will deliver a talk lasting around ten minutes to share their perspective on the debate and highlight options open to cultural sites. This will be followed by a Q&A which any registered attendee can participate in by submitting a question.
