Speaker: Emmie Kell, Director, Museums and Cultural Property, Arts Council England

Hear all about applying to Arts Council England for museum funding, and how to engage with their Strategy, Let’s Create. Their funding initiative, Unlocking Collections, provides huge opportunities for museums and they’re keen to see more applications from museums and allied organisations. In this session, Emmie will share some great case studies and ideas for applications.

Emmie Kell was the CEO of Cornwall Museums Partnership from 2015 -March 2022, an independent charity which she founded to create positive social change with museums. She is a member of Cornwall’s Creative Industries Taskforce and the Creative Industries Federation UK Council; she completed her 5 year term as Non Exec Director of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP in 2021.

Emmie has 28 years of experience within the museum sector including working at the V&A, Somerset House, MOSI Manchester, and Thinktank Birmingham. She is a qualified coach, and leadership mentor and trainer with a particular interest in governance, partnerships and collaborative leadership. Emmie was the Arts Council England Museums Clore Fellow in 2014/15. She joins Arts Council England in March 2022 as the Director of Museums and Cultural Property.
